Tanning Beds

In recent years an alternative to regular tanning has been to use sun-beds or booths; it has become the way to ensure a tan twelve months of the year. The reason for this is that evidence has proved how damaging to your skin it is to sunbathe regularly and the more at risk you are from skin cancer, so people are looking for new ways to achieve the same effect safely. One of these newer methods is called sunless tanning which can be carried out at specialist salons or at regular beauty establishments. The spray system appears to be more consistent than other artificial methods like crams or lotions where streak marks are not uncommon.

In an effort to win even more followers, spray tanning manufacturers have developed systems where you can apply the tan at home. Whichever method you decide upon there are some simple but basic steps needed to ensure the best effect. Probably the most important aspect and the first one to carry out is getting rid of the dead skin on your body by exfoliating. The last thing you want is to have dead skin dropping off and leaving lighter patches where it once was.

Once that stage has been completed, the body needs to be moisturized all over. One of the biggest mistakes people make at this stage when applying a bronzer from a bottle or cream application is to forget to wear gloves, this leaves them with orange palms which is hard to disguise. Another tip, often ignored or forgotten, is to ensure that only a light coat is applied to the backs of the hands, feet and the joints as they show up darker and let everyone know that you have used a lotion or cream. After a spray tanning application you will want to use a towel to remove any excess that may drip and run.

Always stay as still as possible after artificial tanning to allow time for the application to settle down and create an even coating. Consider what you are going to wear once you have applied the fake tan as it tends to stain objects, in particular clothing. Another point to consider is the change of clothes you will need once the tan has been applied; take some dark clothes along that way you avoid any staining. Now that you have this information it should be much easier having a fake tan without anyone knowing.
